Block Prints & Wood Cuts
Over the years I have played with many mediums. I somehow always come back to printmaking in various form. One of my favorite printmaking techniques is linoleum cuts paired with my growing love of watercolors. I carve my blocks with the intention of hand painting many of the individual prints. I paint in water colors, colored pencil and water color pencils. Each hand painted piece turns into a truly unique piece of work.
Here is a video of my "Kayak Adventures" lino block. In the video I have already put down a very light layer of watercolor pencils. Observe what happens when I come over the whole thing with a wet brush. My strokes are meticulously thought out and executed as to not muddy or over dilute the colors.
